November 22 Mississippi Gov Opens New FedEx Ground FacilityMississippi Governor Haley Barbour appeared at the opening of the Olive Branch, MS FedEx Ground sort hub on Nov. 21.  No questions were reported being asked of Gov. Barbour regarding the failure of FedEx Ground to contribute to state unemployment or workers compensation funds.  Not altogether surprising since FedEx Corp. director Jim Barksdale was Barbour’s hand-picked chairman for the privately funded “Mississippi Recovery, Rebuilding and Renewal Commission” following Hurricane Katrina.

November 20 Drivers at Two FedEx Home Delivery Terminals Vote TeamstersThe wire story covers the basics of the union drive in the two Wilmington, MA FedEx Home Delivery Stations.

November 20 Teamsters Make Inroads at FedEx GroundThe hometown Boston paper reports on the full story behind the Wilmington, MA FedEx Home Delivery vote.  The article notes that FedEx is making blanket accusations but cites no specifics.  Such accusations are another tactic in the deny and delay strategy by FedEx Ground management.

November 15 NJ FedEx Ground Driver Dies in AccidentA New Jersey FedEx Ground driver was killed in an accident on a delivery in southern New York on November 13.  The driver apparently was killed by his own vehicle.  News reports say he was driving for a contractor to FedEx Ground but did not indicate out of which terminal.
